Stefan and I will have a flat together!
We signed up for a two room flat at the place where his current flat also is (you get moved up in the queue by already living in a flat in the same place), and were given an estimated waiting period of 5 to 6 months. So I was very surprised when I got a text message today, telling me we had could get a flat (when signing up online you could choose to get notified that way). But it's real: They've offered us a flat from October 1. We really don't need it till the middle of November, but since it seems likely we only got an offer so fast because some other people said no, we can't be sure to get one by then if we don't take this one. And we can afford to pay more than one rent for just two months.
Stefan went to check the location of the flat, and to talk to the current tenants who haven't moved out yet. The location seemed fine, and the girl he talked to said they hadn't had any particular trouble with noisy neighbours or such. So we have now said yes to the offer.
We officially have a flat together, yay! :D
